Hey, Supraluxe is the greatest!
I go back many years here in the Twin Towns and the last band I liked this much was Chameleon (Yanni, Peter Diggins, Dugan McNeil, Charlie Adams - ex members Johnny Donaldson and Mark Anthony)
Now that crown belongs to Supraluxe and Jim Risser, Bob Burns and Rich Pearson. If you have not had a chance to listen to them, Check out my podcast @ www.BaldGuyShow.net I play them all the time!!!
I keep listening to the CD (Thanks Rich) and I can not ever figure out what song I like the best! Boyfriend I liked the least when I fist started listening to it, but now I like it a lot! Marmalade!! WOOHOO! I would love to know the whole story about this song! Run Rabbit Run! keeps it rockin, Tokyo is a classic from day one! what can I say, I love it! now GO, YES GO buy a copy! right here! http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/supraluxe

ADHD-driven non-sequiturial current thought
OMG, the Silvertone Paul Stanley Apocalypse Special Bass is on sale.
It has a "Paul Stanley Apocalypse design". It also has an "Aggressively carved body", which I imagine is what happens when the luthiers are having a bad day.

Sean Lennon
Jim told me I'd go crazy over Sean Lennon's new CD. It's not yet available on Napster or eMusic though, so I haven't bought it. But Napster is streaming the video for the song "Dead Meat".
Disclaimer: I have a well-deserved reputation for hyperbole, but when I find something I love, I immerse myself in it. I slip it on like a pure bliss bodysuit and wear it until it falls off, all burned out and ragged from overuse. So... having said that, I've listened to Dead Meat about a hundred thousand times in the last 24 hours, and IT'S THE BEST SONG WRITTEN IN THE LAST 5 YEARS AT LEAST. Seriously, it rivals anything in Elliott Smith's catalog, and tops everything on From a Basement on the Hill. It's right up there with Figure 8 and XO. I'm in awe.

Supraluxe in Japanese.
10/17/06 - Update, that's actually Japanese for Artist Introduction Page. My bad. Japanese for Supraluxe is probably Supraluxe.

Supraluxe Time Capsule #1
Deep track. Before Supraluxe was Supraluxe, there was 8 Ball Friday. There were 4 guys in the band, you do the math. Jim, Bob, Rich and producer Dave Wesley got together in Dave's basement by Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis. Under the influence of _______ many tracks were recorded, of which this was the first. Others followed - we'll highlight those in later posts. You'll hear early hints of Supraluxe in this track as Jim fakes his way through the lyrics (written on the spot).
Here it is, enjoy. Sideways.
